Jeanie is a third generation Scottish sculptor based in Britain. She specialises in portraiture and equine sculpture.

‘Faces are a curious thing, they reveal so much of the inner world and yet mask it at the same time. The more you look the more there is to see. For me always something new and beautiful is discovered even in the faces of my oldest friends. It is also a very relaxing way to spend hours with a stranger.’

The materials and tools that Jeanie uses are predominantly hand made and locally sourced. A philosophy of connection to the earth, she creates an impression of the person from the clay they have ascended from drawing attention to our intrinsic relationship to the earth we belong.

'Horses are a powerful channel to rediscovering our connection with the natural world which is so vital in this digital age. They inspire in us simultaneous power and grace, selflessness, present peace and to read with out intuition. I crave the sound of a breathing horse amongst the digital hum of our time.

Each creation, I feel, is a pilgrimage of connection; our relationship to nature, each other, ourselves. It is a journey and never experienced in the same way twice.’
